Introduction to Socio-Cultural Anthropology studies human societies and cultures and their development, focusing on understanding how people live, interact, and create meaning within their social contexts.
Socio-cultural anthropologists examine cultural practices, norms, beliefs, and social structures, exploring how they shape individual and group behaviours across different societies.
By conducting fieldwork, often through participant observation, they analyze how language, religion, gender, race, and economic systems influence daily life and social dynamics.
This course aims to foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and the complexities of past and present human societies, especially in Canada.
